CASE STUDY: TEAM BOB with USA Bobsled Skeleton

When traditional fundraising tactics aren’t working, it’s time to think outside the box. In 2019, we helped the USA Bobsled Skeleton Foundation tap into a new audience, recruiting Bobs (literally people named Bob) to join an exclusive club, all in support of USABS athletes.

Client Name:

USA Bobsled Skeleton Foundation

Overview:

in 2019, USA Bobsled Skeleton Foundation was looking for a new grassroots fundraising campaign USABS athletes are self-supported, and rely on outside help to reach the podium at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing.

In a productive (and fun) brainstorming session, CFC Collective developed an idea of Team Bob: a network of “Bob-bassadors” across the county, including race car driver Bobby Rahal.

Through a $50 donation, Team Bob members receive an exclusive Team Bob hat, with all proceeds directly benefiting the USABS team.

Our Approach:

Brainstorm + Discovery

Our process is a process with steps taken to completely customize our service to specifically address your challenges and meet your needs.

We listen to you. We identify the best ways we can help your new or current organization, share our advice, and then put that advice into action by working side by side with you and your team to achieve our mutual goals.

Build the Tools

Using existing brand guidelines from USA Bobsled and Skeleton, we created a robust toolkit for Team Bob including:

  • Logo and Customizable Graphics

  • Social Media and Email Calendars

  • Hat Design and Distribution Plan

  • Landing page on Foundation website

Revisit + Reevaluate

Team Bob was extremely well-received in year one, bringing in 50 “Bobassadors”. But like any campaign, there is always room to analyze, adapt, and expand.

Through feedback from USABS and its stakeholders, we are currently working on Team Bob 2.0, which will include a campaign catered to Skeleton - launching in early 2021.
