Overview:

Christian is an athlete who plays with enormous passion and commitment. Those two qualities are with him off the field as well. He knew he wanted to establish a Foundation but was having a more difficult time homing in on the specific mission of it’s focus.

From our work with him on the first campaign, we understood his primary focus was with the military. But it was also clear that he would answer the call of need no matter where, or what it was. Our first objective was to find a mission for his Foundation that both allowed it to execute at a high level to support and aid our veterans who suffer from PTSD as well as the flexibility to address needs of others who have boots on the ground and dealing with challenges in other areas.

We drafted a mission statement we believed encompassed those elements and worked with CMC on several adjustments to be certain the mission encapsulated what he felt today, and allowed for growth of both Christian and his Foundation for tomorrow. The mission statement:

The Christian McCaffrey Foundation serves as a catalyst for the community and country by supporting those who sacrifice daily for the benefit of many. We show up for our servicemen and women for standing at the front of the most critical challenges of our time.

In just two years, Christian’s Foundation has indeed raised funds and supported efforts specifically for military veterans and their battle with PTSD. But it has also created programs for the police in engagement with youth in their community to build a tighter bond. As opportunities to support others arise, the mission of  the CMF has the flexibility to address those closest to Christian’s heart, while providing some guardrails to keep focus on the tasks at hand.
