CASE STUDY: USA ARTISTIC SWIMMING FOUNDATION

When it comes to Olympic and Paralympic sports, we have a unique understanding of the relationship between National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and the sports they represent. We believe this relationship is strengthened by the leadership of the Board of Directors, and we’re here to help build them.

Client Name:

USA Artistic Swimming Foundation (formerly USA Synchronized Swimming)

Overview:

The USA Artistic Swimming Foundation is a supporting organization of USA Artistic Swimming, and exists to support grassroots development; educational opportunities for coaches, athletes, and officials; and the development of artistic swimming in the U.S.

USAASF hired CFC in 2018 to help bring USA Artistic Swimming and USA Artistic Swimming Foundation together, as well as strengthen their foundation and fundraising efforts — including recruiting new board members.

Our Approach:

Get “In Sync”

We started 2020 bringing the USA Artistic Swimming Foundation and the NGB of Artistic Swimming together by coordinating the rollout of a name change (the sport was formally known as Synchronized Swimming). We also recreated the Foundation logo to reflect the name change, as well as better compliment the NGB logo.

Recruit Board Members

Using our ability to network, persistence, and a little bit of ingenuity, we proposed a long list of potential new board members to join the current Foundation board. At CFC, we believe in building a diverse board of individuals who are passionate about the cause, but that may come from different backgrounds or specialize in certain fields.

Look to the Future

Our first year with USAASF sought to build the basics, create fundraising programs, sort \the database, create new messaging, rebuild the board, an begin event planning. Now, we are looking to 2021 to build on that foundation, and begin doing the work that the 2020 groundwork now allows to happen.
